Awarded first prize in the "Istanbul is Yours - Golden Horn Coasts Urban Design Competition," this project focuses on the 5th Region of the Golden Horn. The design approach treats the landscape as a "palimpsest," aiming to reveal the historical layers and spatial diversity of the area without compromising its unique character.
The strategy focuses on establishing a continuous urban green system that acts as a connector between the historical fabric and modern urban life. By integrating pedestrian and bicycle routes with public transport and marine traffic, the project revitalizes the coastal strip as a vibrant, accessible, and ecological corridor. The proposal prioritizes landscape restoration, the rehabilitation of freshwater ecosystems, and the strengthening of the physical and visual connection between the city and the waterfront.
