Developed as part of the Lighting Design course at Politecnico di Milano under the guidance of Prof. Andrea Siniscalco and Dr. Marija Cekovic, "Moon Over Sand" is a high-end restaurant concept located in the heart of Milan.
Inspired by the atmospheric depths of the Dune and Blade Runner universes, the project explores the transformative power of light to create an intimate and cinematic dining experience. The design focuses on the "water caustics" effect, utilizing light not merely for visibility, but as a fluid material that shapes the spatial narrative. From the soft, glowing amber tones of the entry to the immersive VIP room, every area is meticulously engineered with technical precision—integrating brands like ERCO, Flos, and Tom Dixon to achieve a sophisticated balance between ambient, accent, and scenic lighting
